Well I have made the inevitablev decision. The Defender 130 is gone. Long live the Freelander !

2009 TD4 automatic 130 000km . First impressions favourable. Very lively engine - no turbo lag . Put foot and the boost pressure jumps fast to 1.45 bar (2.45 absolute)Anyone know what the design boost is ?

Fuel economy looks a little doubtful... about the same as the 130 ! Perhaps I must stop checking on max boost pressure !

Nice ride, Dave!

Although it looks like it could use a 2" lift. And some 31" MTs.

I once had one for a few weeks as a loan car, best avg consumption I got over the 3 weeks was 9.8l/100km.

Thanks Naks

I have just completed a long trip , which include , amongst other highlights, Kruger.
Open road economy is excellent - 7 l/100km.
But as a local runabout I battle to achieve 10... I guess thgat is the price you pay for an auto.
