Unstable Range Rover Big Body

Postby mmvalenta@mweb.co.za » 01 Jan 2014 09:37

Happy New Year. My 2004 RR Big Body has suddenly developed a nasty habit. When encountering an uneven section of road (tar or gravel) it feels as if the whole vehicle is moving sideways. This is particularly dangerous on tar roads when the vehicle veers across the centre line into oncoming traffic. I am able to control it but so far I have been lucky. I have replaced both the rear shocks and although the situation has improved it stills persists. I have recently fitted new Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres and had the wheel alignment checked. Could that be a contributing factor? It was during the wheel alignment that I noticed that the one rear shock was leaking. Thanks, Mike

Mike, have you had the lower control arms checked? it may be worth investigating the whole suspension
