Forward Control, who else owns one?

Hello all.

I recently aquired two 2A FCs @ R2K each, chassis numbers 28800822 and 28800956. I have since done some research on these Landys and found that there isn't much real info on ex SADF FCs, but lots of speculation. I have found 28800025 and 28801025 here in the Pta area and wonder how many other FCs are hiding in SA.

Should you have a FC please share some info, like chassis number and type of body it had originally.

I came across a photo at DHQ Archives showing FCs in Angola on Ops Savannah. Probably the last time ever to be used on ops.

Oops! The right-hand side of the photo doesn't show on here for some reason, but there is a FC in front of the 109.

Here is another, a 2A ambulance, sans number plate for external ops.

Thanks to all who sent me PMs, keep them coming. I appreciate that you might not want to disclose a chassis number on a public forum, that's fine, a PM will do, and I wont disclose any info. I am compiling a data base of SADF LRs, to record the body types and other variants, and your input has helped a lot.

At the moment have an ex-British military 109 s3. Have put in an offer for an ex SADF FC109 which I will get in DEC '13 when I
am back in SA. Truly an awesome Vehicle. When she is mine will send chassis numbers etc, and a photo.

I might also look at Purchasing an ex-British FC101, will be able to view in Dec only to make an offer.
