Re: Rande Rover PDC System

Could anybody out there check if they have an answer to my problem? I've been to 2 different LR dealerships and the problem could not be identified. No fault shows on the computer. The Park Distance Sensors for my RR only seems to work when the vehicle is wet. Like after a wash or a lot of rain. Th...

Re: Td5 chip setting

Johan the early TD5 s (pre about 2002) you coiuld not change the ECU mapping. The later models can take a mapping change. If you are not sure what ECU your TD5 has , there is a code number stamped on it. The programmable ones begin with NNN. The early models can be chipped , but general consensus is...

Re: New to this...

Lenny a Series 2 can make a great hobby car for someone who is bored and has cash to blow.
If you plan to buy one because you are not cash flush at present , dont. Rather buy an ugly old Jap pickup.

Re: Hot smells

Hi Colin

We need to get together and sniff at your Landy. We can also check it out with a Nanocom.

Let me know if and when you are interested.

Re: Diesel filter

There is no special trick Darrel.
I dont know what has gon wrong with yours - but it is a conventional type filter. In fact a TDi filter works on the TD5 ....

Pehaps the body has detached from the top plate of the filter - maybe the cause of the leak ?

Re: Lndrover 2 TD5 Turbo Lag

You shouldnt have frustrating turbo lag on your Disco. I assume the car performs poorly at low revs and this is what you call turbo lag ? Check your air flow meter out : simplest way to do this is to unplug the harness at the MAF. Drive the car with this unplugged. If there is a performance improvem...

Re: engine oil Disco 3 TDV6SE 2005

I wish to do an engine oil change. I have recently bought the vehicle and I am assuming the current engine oil is standard mineral oil. I wish to drain and fill with a synthetic oil. Are there are danger s of incompatibility? If I run the engine hot and allow sufficient drain time, is this still a ...

Re: 1997 Defender 90 Tdi Insurance & Valuation

Hi Guys, (apologies if this thread already exists - I did hunt around a little first) I have just bought a 90 300 Tdi CSW for R110k however all the insurers I have contacted will only insure at 'book' of R53,500. I hope to tastefully improve this vehicle (ie spend money on it) and use it for Social...
