Transfer Box on 200Tdi

At long last, after many months i have finally put my "new"second-hand front diff center portion in. That is after i had to re-order new 24/32 spline side-shafts from the UK. I know the 24/32 side shafts are the weaker ones, but that's what i got. two questions concerning diff and transfer...

Re: Wrong Diff - Front Centre Portion

At long last I have received a new set of 24/32 spline side shafts and could fit the "new" secondhand center diff portion.
It goes well now and no longer has the forward-backward motion. The nice ride is something to get used to again.
Thanks again for all the valuable info and help.

I sailed back and started the dismantling of the old and to my horror found out that I have the 10 spline side shaft dif...

Forewward-Backward Motion

Defender 200Tdi station wagon Over months I have developped a forward-backward motion while driving and the backlash on crown wheel and pinion has become more. Very slow, heavy accelaration and taking all power off it goes away. I checked the Radial arm bushes and replaced them as they were worn bad...

Re: LT77 Gearbox - 200Tdi

The manual calls for ATF type G oil for the Lt77 gearbox.
We sometimes get AFTF type A oil here - what is the difference ???
At the moment I have ATF Dexron II in the box as it was the only oil I could find at the time
Would it be a big problem ???

Thanks for all the help

LT77 Gearbox - 200Tdi

What type of oil do one use in the manual LT77 gearbox.
The manual says it is ATF - Automatic transmission fluid.
Is that correct for a "manual"gearbox ???
