Re: Disco tyres

I am using 245/75 Cooper STT's, which have got quite high tread blocks, on standard suspension without a problem. Speedo and trip meter under reads a bit, but performance is Ok and no touching anywhere, even under severe articulation. I wouldn't recommend going bigger than this without a lift though.

Re: Discovery Found!!

I am intrested to know your decision on tyre size as I wanted to go to 245/75/16 and most tyre places do not recommend this at all, to much strain on drivetrain. Let us know. Enjoy , it's a reliable landy. 245/75/16 works fine on a D1, but you will have to adjust the steering bump stops slightly an...

Check here http://www.discovery2.co.uk/wastegate.html
A faulty solenoid will cause the car to jerk and be low on power.

Re: Wastegate Solinoid Bypass Mod - Td5

Why do you want to do it? I did it earlier this year after my car started jerking, but later just replaced the solenoid. The car has a bit more vooma in the mid rev range with the solenoid and they are not expensive, only R400, and easy to fit. If you must do the bypass, simply connect the little pi...

Re: Buying advice - Discovery II TD5

The D2 had major changes from 2003 onwards, generally known as the facelift and are easily identifyable by the round headlights. There was about 600 changes made from the early models to the last ones and I think naks' statement about not touching one is a bit harsh, based on individual experience. ...

Re: The Weskus is awesome!

Sounds great....tollroads?.....where?....how much? How much were the campsites if you don't mind me asking? Thanks Probably the railway road that runs from Elands Bay to Lambertsbay and then further up to Doring Bay. What campsites? On the West Coast you camp wild. This is what makes it magnificent...

Re: Defender Fuel Pump

OK, I'll give it a try with my limited knowledge  I have not heard about the outside fuel pump, but take it with a pinch of salt, better get the real stuff. That is, if it is the fuel pump. 120k km sounds a bit on the short side for a fuel pump to go, better have the car checked on a diagnosti...

This is the only reason why BMW bought LR, so that they can get the technology of the RR to develop the X5, then conveniently sold LR off to Ford.
