Re: R380 gearbox filler plug

R380 was a new design, mated to the old existing transfer case. Bloody stupid in my opinion. I changed the filler plug on mine to a blank-off for water piping, same thread pitch, it can now be easily removed with a 13mm spanner. The water pipe blankoff is taper threaded, so put just a little bit of ...

Re: purchasing new injectors

What engine?

For the TDi the injector tip only need to be replaced and you dont have to buy the body.

Bosch Diesel Service can help you with this.

For the TD5 new may be the best answer.
I may be able to help you source some at a decent price.

Re: Transfer Box on 200Tdi

It could be wear between the gearbox output splines and the input gear on the transfer case. Put the transfer case in neutral, handbrake off (and wheels cocked) and remove the pto cover on the transfer box and have a look, jiggle the handbrake drum to and trough, it will be easy to spot.

Re: Gearbox

Hi there.

If your gearbox is a 5 speed with reverse next to 1st then it is a LT77 box and takes ATF.

If the reverse is next to 4th it is a R380 box, you can use Castrol MTF. ATF also gives good results. Dont use diff oil as it is too thick and will damage the oil pump.
